Program Overview

Entrepreneurs often find it difficult to raise funds for their venture. Financiers on the other hand, have funds waiting for investment. They constantly seek good ventures for funding. A good venture for funding is one where the entrepreneur has examined in depth, multiple perspectives which impact the venture and has created adequate mitigation measures. This program helps the entrepreneur understand and appreciate the nuances of creating a good venture.


Course/Program Objectives

The program objective is to develop an in-depth understanding and analysis of the venture in a financial model which enables the entrepreneur to simulate the consequences of decision making as impacted by market realities with the purpose of creating a robust cash flow management mechanism for the venture’s financial sustainability.

Program Pedagogy

2 day intensive hands-on workshop where the participants work on a spreadsheet with their own enterprise information to create a financial planning and monitoring tool.

Faculty Profile

Prof. Bharat Damani

Associate Professor – Entrepreneurship

Prof. Damani has worked with start-ups and scaling businesses in manufacturing for their fund, non-fund and strategic needs since 1986. He has experience in lending, investing, turnarounds, acquisitions, investment banking and consulting roles. He has consulted Japanese companies like DIC Corporation, Nichimen Corporation, Nippon Kodo, NTT Data, Sakura Bank, Sumitomo Chemicals, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation and Toyota Tsusho Corporation for joint venture partner identification, evaluating market potential, business valuation and exits. He has also consulted companies like Aquapharm Chemicals, A.T.E. Enterprises, Cooper Foundry, EcoAxis Systems, Ernst & Young, Gera Developments, Pune Carbide, Sakal International Learning Centre, Tata Capital, Tata Chemicals and Union Batteries for their strategic and financial transactions.

Bharat has been a visiting faculty (since 1991) at institutions like Sydenham Institute of Management, FLAME University, Symbiosis, Tata Institute of Social Sciences and IIT Bombay. He practices engagement oriented learning through simulation and practical work. His subjects include financial management, business plan preparation, new venture business strategy and social entrepreneurship.

Bharat mentors students and professionals to become entrepreneurs with an emphasis on creating impact and giving back to society.


Cancellation

In the unforeseen event of Program Cancellation by the Centre, participants will be refunded the entire amount of Program Fees. If the cancellation is requested by the participant then the Program Fee will be withheld as credit for the next schedule of the same program or an alternative program that the candidate opts for.
